What do you get when you mix Western-chic, a beautiful girl and a field of flowers? An amazing outdoor boudoir portrait session, duh! When Amy came to me about needing photos for a project she was working on, we collaborated on the theme ‘a little bit of country and a little bit of rock-n-roll’ and in my opinion, it worked out perfectly. Big thanks to my friend, Tammy, for working her magic on hair & make-up and a round of applause for Amy, who rocked her shoot, like the pro she is. Look out for her, because when she makes it big, she’s going to take on the world!! Enjoy!

I know I’ve said this a few times – one of the things I am so thankful to have in my life and in this business, are my amazing clients. The Barry family, whom I have known for a while now, are one of these amazing clients. They hired me last year to document the first year of their little girl, Reagan. It has been such the adventure, watching Reagan grow up. She recently turned one and we got to celebrate with one last photo shoot, to complete the year. It’s amazing how quickly she has grown up!! I still remember sitting around in her room, when she was a few months old, waiting for her to fall asleep so that we could capture the “perfect” moment (you can see her first shoot here). At 6 months, she was scooting and crawling everywhere – we attempted the beach, but she couldn’t keep the sand out of her mouth just yet (check that shoot out here). And just a month ago, I was chasing her around the park, holding a cup of cheerios and chasing after balloons. I look back at the past year and it was filled with lots of laughter, crawling on all fours, making strange, high-pitched baby noises and sand in my jeans…but even after all that, it was such an enjoyable, memorable year with Reagan, Emily and Jim. Costa Mesa Portrait: Bobbie

B…for Bobbie. Bobbie, now 1 1/2 years old, met me at a cute little spot in Costa Mesa and gave me a full 45-minutes of her undivided attention…well, sort of…as much undivided attention a little girl would give me, at that age. Mama brought the full arsenal of make-me-smile weapons, which consisted of the letter B, a wooden duck, some car keys, a beanie and a very warm looking blanket. All of Bobbie’s favorites, as she tossed one aside to wrangle another. She is a girl after my own heart – a smile that makes you laugh and so full of personality. I started photographing Bobbie when she was just sitting up, so it was so great to see her running around, chatting a bit and giving me her million dollar smile. See you next year sweetie!!

Newport Beach Portrait: Moores

Holiday portrait sessions are in full effect here at the studio! One of my favorite things about the holidays drawing near is that I get to see my holiday clients again!! Here are the Moore’s!! You may recognize them and their theme, “Christmas in California.” I started photographing them four years ago, from their wedding to an annual holiday session, and their theme has become even more awesome-er. I love reoccurring themes – it makes me so excited to see what they come up with every year. This year, their photos were uber-fabulous so I am excited to blog the images. John, a Newport Beach lifeguard, and Kelley, my fabulous personal cupcake, cookie and treat maker (if you ever need a few sweet treats, she is the creator and mastermind of Moore Sweets!), put their brains together and came up with this cute theme. Enjoy!

You may recognize this beautiful family from a shoot, earlier this year. I met Emma when she was about 7 months old and she was a pleasure to hang out with. Well, Emma and I reunited earlier this month and we had a great time – she has grown up in just under a year and it’s amazing how much she’s changed. Emma and I shared a bag of dried mangoes and hung out on the beach. What a little cutie. Happy Holidays from the Rosenthal family. Emma, I will see you next year cutie pie.

Irvine Corporate Headshots: Life IVF

You just never who you will meet being in this industry and in my opinion, I think that’s what keeps life a little interesting. A few weeks ago, I was asked to photograph head shots for the doctors of Life IVF, a fertility center located in Irvine. I don’t often get to photography corporate head shots, so it was nice to have a little change of pace. And in the middle of it all, I even learned a bit about what they do! Enjoy!
